Christina’s Senior Photos

Before they completed construction on the River View at Occoquan, the location left a little to be desired. It was a pretty place to go kayaking in the summers, but the area felt pretty small and sparse, and I always preferred Old Town Occoquan instead. But with the addition of the River View, now there are so many textures and locations we were able to use for Christina’s senior photos!

It was absolutely freezing, but the event venue’s doors were unlocked, so we were able to take a break halfway through. A really helpful thing when you’re trying to take pictures in the middle of winter!

I loved that we had the clean, modern architecture of the new event building to work with, as well as the old, historic buildings. My favorite was this beehive brick kiln used by prisoners at the start of the 20th century.

It started snowing right before we ended our session, but that weather was NOTHING compared to the freezing winds I experienced during my engagement session a few weeks later! If only I knew!
